Backegards
Backegards was founded in 1981 in Betarp outside Burseryd in the southern part of Sweden, by Anders Sveningsson. What was originally a production of moldings has over the years developed into one of Sweden's most flexible companies in wood processing. About half of the production is exported, mainly to the Norwegian market where we are represented by Woodify, of which we are also a partner. Since 2011, the company is run by the children Andreas Sveningsson, Frida Sveningsson and CEO Johan Nordlund
Great knowledge of wood
Knowledge of the peculiarities of different types of wood is as important as it is rare. That is why we care a lot about educating our employees and stimulating their interest in our living raw material. By working with all types of wood, we challenge ourselves to further develop our knowledge.
As a material, wood has a broad product flora where all types of wood are subject to different quality rules. Wood knowledge is not something you learn without interest and commitment and it takes at least two years to become a competent wood worker. At Backegards, we are very careful about the quality and every single piece is visible at every stage of the manufacturing process. We never find two pieces that are the same.
Our employees have an overall high level of competence and consist of a good mix of experience and innovation. We know our stuff and know which products work for different applications. Therefore, we are happy to participate in the discussion of a new product at an early stage. Sometimes we immediately see that certain wishes can lead to problems and then we can often come up with a better alternative.
